Food was very good... Service a little lacking... Casual atmosphere. Good for kids!

We came here on a Thursday evening around 6 or so. It was incredibly busy and most of all- HOT. We were seated inside, just by the front door. I'm not even sure if there is air conditioning, but our overhead fan above our table wasn't working, and the hot air coming in front the street wasn't helping. When we left, it actually felt cooler outside (did I mention this was mid-July?) We came in time to get the raw bar deal- 60 cents or so per piece of shrimp or what-have-you. For some reason, I decided to get an entree, despite the somewhat high price. I got the fish tacos, which were...not great. I know everyone does fish tacos differently, but I usually expect a little brightness from cilantro and lime, probably some pickled cabbage. This was basically just fried fish and cheese on a tortilla- two tacos for $17! They were so heavy and greasy that I only ate one. I did get some hush puppies with my meal, and those were great. But I've been to enough seafood places where hush puppies are brought out free to the table, that the addition of them to my meal still didn't justify the $17 price tag. Finally, I got a diet coke with my meal and it was completely flat. I should have known better, as soda from those little bar guns is always flat and gross. I will say that their beer and cocktail prices seemed pretty good. Our server looked to be about 17 and totally overwhelmed. We had to remind him to bring us some things, some of our order got mixed up (I guess they do the shrimp in dozens. My dad asked for 18- or 1 1/2 dozen and only got 12.) I don't really fault him too much, as the place was crazy busy and he seemed to be covering about half the restaurant himself. Overall, unless you're just getting piles of stuff from the raw bar, I'd pass.

This is why you listen to the locals! Be sure this is the one on 319 Sea Mt. Hwy - there are 2 in close proximity. It was a party of 11 with 3 little ones and this was certainly family friendly. Open air and a fully stocked bar. Let me say that good wait staff make all the difference - Paula was phenomenal!! She was so funny and very helpful. That really sells a place. We ordered a steam pot and catch of the day (mahi mahi).. OMG at the amount of food! We all ended up eating off of each other's plates. Between the crab legs, steamed clams and oysters, fresh scallops, shrimp.. I can't pick a favorite. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and fair price. We want to come back tomorrow!!

First, we waited 15 minutes at the hostess stand. Lots of wait staff walked by, and none of them even acknowledged us. Once we were seated in the upstairs dining room, we were soaked by rain, because the zip up windows are all broken and can not be closed. Appetizers (bisque and crab legs) were good. I ordered the pirate's plate for my entree. The fish was so over cooked it was inedible. The scallops were spoiled and obviously inedible. The shrimp was ok, and the crab legs were good. My friend got the shrimp and grits - her comment was that they were bland. My other friend got crab cakes. They were unseasoned. I spoke to our waitress about it, and she went to get the manager. Now, 15 minutes later I am still waiting to see the manager. Disgusted with the whole experience. Don't waste your time or your money.

I really can't think of anything to complain about aside from the presentation of the oysters. They came out swimming In a bowl of Half melted ice which was pretty gross but they ended up tasting really good , with no shells In them ! Which was a pleasant surprise. We came during hAppy hour and ordered all the raw bar specials which were all Seasoned nicely and tasted yummy. Service was a little slow but the friendliness of our server made up for that. We would def go back. (:

Stopped by for a bite to eat around 3pm. No crowds, ordered apps of crab dip and fish bites. Crab dip came in small dish (12.99) covered in cheese. It was just ok, crab dip isn't supposed to have corn in it. Seemed to be mostly cheese and corn as a filler. Fish bites (7.99) very small dish, but they were decent. Greasy but that's to be expected. My waitress seemed to have disappeared, ending up sitting waiting for our check for 20 mins. I would probably only return for happy hour assuming it's a good deal.

Food would have been great if it came out hot. The flies were out of control and we couldn't take our leftovers because of flies. Manager only willing to take 10%....hardly worth the 20 minutes it took her to do it

    (1)
  • Karen K.

Dirty place full of flies in the outdoor seating area. The food was really good but I have to wonder what the kitchen is like if they can't even keep the tables clean.

Double shot rum runners and margaritas were good...other than that my experience was pretty lackluster. Shrimp and Grits was disturbingly bland and unappetizing. You could barely tell the difference between the shrimp and grits within one bite. The grits were watery and tasteless...which also stands as an accurate description of the shrimp. My Cousin ordered a fried platter which was pretty good..but overall overpriced

We stopped in for a late evening dinner. It was our first day in town and meeting up with family, they sat us directly under a speaker. We asked to move to a quieter location where we could talk. They said only outside on the patio would be quieter, they placed us right under a speaker... We ordered. The service was slow, the clam chowder was Luke warm at best. We did not get drink refills or see our server for a long while. She eventually returned apologizing that she was doing closing activities. Glad to see closing is more important than current customers. Won't return.

I came here with my husband and our friend when we were spending a Saturday night in North Myrtle Beach. All of us loved it! We sat at the bar, and our bartender/server was very nice and helpful. We shared a dozen oysters, which were extremely fresh and we also shared the pigskin shrimp, which were expertly fried and surprisingly, contained perfectly cooked shrimp!. For our entrees, the boys had the shrimp po boy and both enjoyed it. I had the fried crab cake sandwich and I thought it was very good as well. We all appreciated the laid back atmosphere, and when the bill came, it was less than $100 for two appetizers, three entrees, and five drinks. So it was very affordable. If I'm ever in North Myrte Beach again, I won't hesitate to go back to Duffy's.

I like the shack appeal and concept of Duffy Street Seafood Shack. I have been going for a few years now and it is OK at best. I find their prices to be a little in the high side....and now on to the food. Today I ordered the Low Country Boil. Normally this is 'boiled', thus the name. The corn is fried, which was actually tasty. The potatoes on the bottom were way over cooked and become a blob on the bottom of the pan. The sausage had the appearance of goose turds and tasted as such. The sausage was fried and way over cooked. The shrimp, not bad. I did raise a concern about the sausage to which the waiter replied 'that is our #1 complaint'. If that is the case then why don't they fix it! I was offered extra sausage, but declined. This will be my final visit to this place!

  • Nici S.

Very bad service. We went to garb a quick drink but the drink we order the bartender did not know how to fix it. He said he was new and was not willing to ask for help. We walked out. The place was empty and smelled weird. I would recommend the other location better.

Went to Duffy Street for their Happy Hour which was great. Oysters and clams $0.60 each and shrimp $0.35 each between 4-6. The oysters at Duffy's are usually huge however today's oysters were about normal to maybe smaller. Still great. The shrimp was steamed perfectly with a bit of Old Bay. $15 bucks for a dozen oysters and a pound of shrimp, I'm very happy! If you can tear yourself off the beach early, this is a good deal. And as always, they have cold beer and great blues.

Really solid seafood in an upbeat beachy atmosphere. Try the blackened fish tacos and a nice margarita after a afternoon at the beach. This is a very casual atmosphere with a roadhouse feel. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. My husband loves the raw bar as well. Lair outside, eat some peanuts while you wait for your meal and throw the shells on the floor. Great food and drink. We stop every time we are in town.

Seating can be cramped here if you go with a crowd. We were part of a party of 12. We called several hours ahead but they still had trouble accommodating us because the dining areas are tight. They finally put us on the upstairs porch which is open-air with a nice breeze. It seemed a little less noisy than the ground level porch. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is casual and laid back. Our party ordered steaks, seafood, and sandwiches and everything was great except for the crab cakes, which left something to be desired. I would definitely eat here again. Give it a try!

This used to be my favorite seafood joint but we went in tonight to eat and were told the wait 'might be about an hour'. When I asked how long it would really be, the hostess said she didn't know. Given that it was 4:45 on a thursday, the restaurant was only half full, and one of the other guys waiting told us he'd been waiting an hour, we decided to bail. Disappointing service lost our business tonight and probably in the future.

The hush puppies are amazing. The peanuts get a bit messy on the tables and floors but overall this is a great place to grab a quick bite on the way to the beach.

We had steamed clams, fish bites, coats greens and roasted corn on cob. The fish bites were excellent. The clams were okay but the broth left something to be desired. The collard greens were definitely right out of a can and the ham was nonexistent. Wait staff was very attentive. Definitely not a place you want to wear dress wear too. Over priced for portion sizes.

I am so upset. DO NOT EAT HERE. We drove to N. Myrtle for the weekend to celebrate my son's birthday. He drove down from camp lejeune and we were looking forward to eating some good seafood. After reading through all the yelp reviews, we chose this place based everyone saying how good the seafood is. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! First they tried to seat 9 adults and a toddler at a 6 sweater picnic table literally on the road. We said no, so they put us upstairs. In retrospect we should've taken the first option. It was so hot we were sweating AND we were still crammed in a tight space. Russian servers ( another form of slavery but I won't get into that) that could hardly speak English, dirty, chemical bug spray sitting on server station, styro cups, HOT, and did I say it was hot? The food was less than average. Canned greens, I had the shrimp and grits. Couldn't eat it. Salads were covered with cheese and bacon bits and a few pieces of lettuce. No one o our entire party liked their food. We paid our ridiculous check of $252 and left, feeling disgusted and sad.

Started off with excellent calamari and fresh oysters, wonderful waitress, down hill from there. Fr I ed platters very pricey, hushpuppies inedible, flounder with pin bones, oysters near cremation! Thought surely just a fluke, reordered oysters and recieved identical hard dark dry! Never again at 23.00 per plate for fried alone.

This place deserves more stars! Went with a group of four, ordered drinks and 2 seafood baskets to share. The waiter was prompt and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. The drinks were also quite good. I got a squeezed vodka and my husband got a key west pina colada and they really hit the spot on a warm day. I honestly have not one bad thing to say about this place. They have a happy hour special between 4-6 for super cheap seafood which maybe something we'll head back for before the vacation is over!

I am in full agreement with reviewer R.P. We had a HORRIBLE experience here. DO NOT EAT HERE. It was so disappointing after we had such high hopes about it. The service was scattered, unorganized, and unprofessional. The food was adequate at best, but certainly not worthy of what we paid for it. We had bad raw oysters, tiny scallops, watered-down drinks, and no silverware for 5 minutes after our food arrived. Then another large party arrived and they tried to seat all of them at this ridiculously small table that backed up to ours to the point where the waitresses butts scooted across the top of our table every time they went by. the other party was NOT happy and had to separate on their own in order to have some decent room. When it was time for our bill, they took our AmEx and were gone for a while. She came back and said that their computer was down, and they don't THINK they double charged us, as they had ran it through a few times (not reassuring at all). Then she said that the other girl (manager/cook/bartender/whatever) had to "hand write us a receipt." This made no sense to us, but we said ok. Well, we waited for that "hand written" receipt for 15 minutes. My husband decided to go and see what the holdup was (as our elderly father was running out of oxygen on his portable tank). He found the 2 girls talking at the bar, and the "whatever" girl jumped up and said, "I'm working on it..." When she came back 5 MORE minutes later. she handed us a scribbled piece of paper written messily, "Duffy st seafood shack" 128.31" and placed it on the table with no apologies. REALLY???? It took that long to scribble that???? DO NOT GO HERE!!

Duffy's was nearby our hotel and we saw it driving in. What caught our eye was the 4-6 happy hour on shrimp. I have to say that we didn't enjoy Duffy's. It is overpriced and the service was slow and unfriendly. You can't really mess up peel and eat shrimp but we didn't go back.

Saturday night at the beginning of bike week. Got seated fairly quickly. But the positive event ended there. Took an hour and a half from the time we seated to get food. Then the chicken quesalilla had fish & a scallop in it with the chicken. The shrimp & grits that was ordered without onion due to allergy came full of onions. The soft shelled crab was just unreal aweful. Stay away.

One of the worst places we have ever been. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! First off. We told them we had a part of 9. The girl rolled her eyes, like it was a problem to her, then She told us 20 min. Took 60. when we ordered water, not a lie, my wife's water was clear, blue tint, and mine was brown, and when I ordered a beer, he forgot. Staff completely unfriendly. And food was ok. But how rude the staff was, I would not tell my enemy to go there. It is a "shack" and they treat it like that. Take too long to clean up after a table and the place is trashed. I am surprised they are able to stay open.

Service was good, hostess very disorganized. Food just okay my wife had fish tacos nothing to brag about salsa seemed store bought. I got the Duffy steamer not hot, no real flavor. My wife got a traditional margarita instead of salt sugar on rim of glass. Lots of options in area to get very average at best

Very disappointed. After waiting an hour for my food, the majority of our group was not impressed with the food. Lobster was served, then the butter came out about 30 minutes later. I loved my sautéed crab cakes, but when I got my bill, it was for $20, not $10. I couldn't wait any longer for the waitress as I was with a large party so I had to suck it up and I just left. I am a local here and I took 11 vacationing friends. They said this was the worst experience they ever had at a restaurant. Ever.

  • J.R. G.

Certainly not worth the money or the experience!!! Not only was the service horrible so was the food. Boiled shrimp, was tough and over cooked, steamed oysters were under steamed and had to be popped open thankfully they provided an oyster knife. Don't eat the peanuts they are stale. So after 25 minutes with the server trying to cash out the ticket we went on a search mission, he was hanging out at the bar..... Not a good experience at all don't waster your money.

A disclaimer: I used to work in restaurants for many years. Ergo my expectations and response are based off that. I went on a busy Wednesday night. We had a short wait and I went across the street to the store. When I got back, my party was seated and half of them had already ordered. Then the rest of us ordered. Our other group got their food after about 15 minutes which is pretty good. The only problem is that I was told it wasn't particularly warm which is a problem with a steamed item like king crab legs. They said their food was alright. After we ordered, our entrees took a good 45 minutes to get delivered which is certainly on the longer side of a wait. I had the steamed platter and I liked everything I had. I would say the food was pretty good. My gripe beyond the longer than necessary wait time was our amateur hour server. The server was very nice and very pleasant. But she mistook talking and gabbing with her tables over actually providing quality service. She liked to tell us the things she was doing or going to do instead of just doing it. Our drink refills were infrequent and every time we were told by her that should would be back to do so. This is a conversation that never needs to happen and when one is already in the process of waiting for food, we need not be alerted that we are now also waiting for drinks. Same thing with payment at the end; "I'll be right back to take that (cue five minute wait)." Well that doesn't get it done any quicker nor alleviate the agitation of waiting. Serving should be about executing what the clientele needs (ideally) before they realize they need something and at a minimum without them having to nickle and dime with requests. Even though the food came out at two different times, we had to ask for silverware both times. She brought silverware the first time and intentionally only brought it for half the table. This type of thing is beyond my understanding. Again, having silverware before food arrives is not negotiable. Nothing sucks more than being hungry, waiting 45 minutes, and not being able to start eating because you don't have a fork. I was told after about 35 minutes that "our food was coming out now." 10 minutes later it got there. this outright pissed me off. It does not appease anyone to be told they are receiving their food to then just do more waiting; I hope this isn't a sanctioned practice by the management. I looked around and their seemed to be a lot of staff, so I think there was plenty of help around to avoid getting backed up. Bottom line was the food was good, but not good enough to offset the service. And when there area plethora of seafood options nearby, I would rather go somewhere that the service didn't sour the food.

Fantastic seafood restaurant! Great food, fun atmosphere, good drinks. The seafood is very fresh and delicious. The prices are a little high but my husband and I shared a steamer bucket and it was plenty of food! We got out of there for less than $30, were satisfied, and had a great seafood meal on our vacation.

Though many complain (including the Yankee sitting behind us who sent his ribs back twice because they had bones in them (wth)), we had a great experience here. When you sit in an open air restaurant a block or two from the beach, you don't expect the cleanest environment. It is loud with blues music and kids having a good time and the floors are covered with peanut shells (neat freaks beware). We ordered drinks from the bar (the guys ordered the $5 rum punch drink special and seemed to enjoy it) which were pretty good. We ordered a steam pot including shrimp, clams, oysters, and crab legs and two pounds of steamed shrimp which were AWESOME. Overall, a great time with good drinks and great food!!

To give this place 1 star is honestly a credit to them, if no stars were a choice that would be my choice. Let me start with the atmosphere...this place smells like it is located at the landfill. If you dine outside you smell the trash and grease pits located just in the parking lot to the left. We chose to sit in the outside dining which was a mistake because the last time the tables had been wiped down must have been a month ago. As an appetizer, we ordered raw oysters...another mistake. The oysters were the size of my thumb and covered in ice, which should have been the first sign that they would not be great. As a meal, I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich, the people I was with had the fish po' boy and the buffalo shrimp. The soft shell crab and the fish po' boy were TERRIBLE! The fish was undoubtedly old and should not have been served. The highlight of meal was definitely the fries which had old bay seasoning on them and reminded me of Baltimore. The lowlight of the meal besides the fish definitely had to be when I ordered a second diet Pepsi and it came to the table with fat or grease floating on the top of the drink. Overall, terrible experience and I will NEVER go back! I suggest you stay away from this place.

Do yourself a favor and get the fried pickle spears. They're some of the best I've ever had. The shrimp and grits I ordered, however, are a different story. The mish mash of thick grits, corn, shrimp, bacon and cheese - like, heavy melted white cheese - just didn't do it for me. It really didn't need cheese and a sauce of any kind would have been appreciated. I know this ain't a wine lovers joint, but the Pinot Grigio was pretty bleh (and there were three of us drinking it so I think the bottle was fresh). I'd go back for beer and apps.

Went there with a family of 16. All of us were supremely satisfied! The waitress was pleasantly swift. The kids even enjoyed their food. If I'm in North myrtle, I don't leave without stopping in for a bite. See you all soon.

Small and beachy. Pound of boiled shrimp cooked perfectly and tossed with Old Bay seasoning. Wings ordered extra crispy and seasoned Cajun dry. Again perfect. Couple of cold beers with family at the beach, good food, great service and this is an amazing day. Duffys is a stop we make each and every time we head this way for the weekends.

Overall, a good and very "informal" place for a drink after a walk on the beach in the late afternoon. This place is right across the street from Ocean Drive hotel, on the corner of North Ocean and Main St. We were hungry after a stroll on the beach. There is not a lot of good choices within walking distance around this area. We saw the sign for happy hour and we stopped in for a drink, but we ended up having our dinner here. This place is literally a shack with folding picnic tables and chairs. The whole place was littered with peanut shells, so if you are allergic to peanuts avoid this place. The TVs on the wall are too small to watch a good football game, and if you want to see the game scores, you have to check the app on your cell phone. There are some scribbles with the special on the wall but it was in dark blue and green and it was kinda hard to read the specials in a poorly lit place. The service was good and fast. Our server read us the special, and we had a three dozens of oysters on 1/2s, and another two boiled shrimp, while having a couple of rounds of drinks. We had a pretty good time and decided to ordered some dinners. I had the oyster po-boy and it was pretty good.--oyster was nice and juice. Wife had the seafood combo and it was alot of food. By the time we finished dinner at 6:30. There was a line waiting to be seated outside the door. We will probably come back here again next time we are in N. Myrtle Beach.

My husband and I came here while on vacation. Our server, Nate, was great. He was friendly and attentive. The service was great even though it was a busy Saturday evening. Food was good. Fried pickles in the Duffy sauce were great and my husband loved the crab legs. I got the chicken sandwich and salad - both we're good. However the beer was a little pricey, but its sort of touristy so I guess it was sort of expected.

**3.5 stars** Good food in a local place. Busy place with limited parking. And it really is a shack. This place has two stories, both of which are basically covered patio decks. Decor is pretty low-key. The environment definitely fits the bill of a casual place to relax by the beach with a cold beer and some friends. Lots of free peanuts. Service is kind of iffy, our waitress was nice but all over the place. She kept telling tables she'd be right back to them after she brings some other table their beer/dessert/crackers/whatever. weird. We had fun at this place though. I tried my friend's appetizer of Pig Skin Shrimp, which sound strange but were pretty good. (fresh shrimp fried with bacon and jalapeno!) My table all got platters from the menu. 3-combo platters run for $16.99. I got broiled scallops, fried flounder, and stuffed crab. The platters all come with cole slaw (which was forgotten on some of my friend's platter), hush puppies, and fries. Hush puppies were ok but could use some sweet butter or other flavoring. Fries were just how i like them (large and crispy with the skin). Cole slaw was cole slaw. The stuffed crab was a disappointment though. The peppers and onions that were used overpowered the crab and made it too soggy. I saved my flounder for the end when I was really full so I didn't really get to enjoy it. And it wasn't very good reheated later that night. The redeeming factor and my favorite item ever (of course) were the broiled scallops. They were HUGE. super fresh, wonderfully flavored to bring out their natural juices, and did I mention HUGE AND DELICIOUS? I love scallops and I think these were the largest, freshest, and most wonderful ones i've ever had! All this for about $20 after tax? not bad, not bad at all. I think I have another place to come back to next year at beach week =)

I got take out from this place. Half of the staff couldn't speak English or very little English. I was asked if I had filled out my application yet while picking up food & I said uh no I had a call in. I got the devils crabs & it was mostly breading with very very little crab meat. The fries tasted like they were a day old. My friend got clam strips & fries & hers was just ok. Made our stomachs hurt. I won't return

This review is for just appetizers. The place is very near the beach house of my family. The day after Christmas we drove down for a couple of days to visit the Cousins & Kin and enjoy the coast in the off season. This is a great place to get a quick lite bite appetizer or between meal snack. The Blackened Fish Bites and Pig Skin Shrimp are very tasty. This place is very casual and a great place to hang out during the season.

Shrimp & grits were good, crab legs were OK; ..... however ...... Very unappealing, LOUD, dirty, overpriced for the food. Crab cakes, not good. Hush puppies , mostly burned dough. Just not a very good eating experience.

Duffy's is awesome, we go there every year for beach week after finishing school. Our bartender every year is this guy named Mike who's the man. He's hilarious and keeps the drinks coming and made well. The Fish Bowls are a great buy and you can keep the bowls for a few bucks if you want afterwards. The food is pretty solid, a little expensive if you don't go for the specials but the specials are usually really good and are worth the buy. This isn't exactly a family place, kinda dingy and would turn away anyone too stuffy for the Duffy. Great for a drink after work or at night for a bite to eat and a couple Rum Runners.

On vacation, had to try Duffy's because ever time we drove by it was packed. If you have a party of four its much more easier to get a table. Anything bigger and you will have a long wait. We were lucky. We got ribs, BQ chicken, hush puppies, fried corn, chicken tenders and crab legs. The kids weren't to impressed with the ribs/bq but my hubby liked the tenders alot. I liked my crab as well. Its not the greatest but... it was a fun place to seat outside, enjoy the crowds and listen to music. ** as you have read in other reviews... you will be walking thru miles of peanut shells since everyone gets peanuts to munch on before the food comes out.

Great spot for happy hour and especially for $0.40 oysters, very nice beer selection as well!

Delicious food. Friendly staff. Rustic atmosphere. Stick to the seafood options on the menu - veggies and appitizers can be less than spectacular. Blackened fish tacos, fried shrimp were delicious. Generous proportions.

This location is great for funky shack decor and blues music. Seems like the perfect place to chill with a beer, particularly in the off season or off peak hours. Great fried seafood, scallops and crab cakes are great favorites, sandwiches are best value. If you want less wait, quicker service, and do not want the funky atmosphere, the second location on Hwy 17 has great food in a larger more traditional space.

Really enjoyed the local, steamed oysters. Good service. Fun atmosphere true to name.

This was my first visit to the North Myrtle location, I had previously visited the Cherry Grove location. Our waitress at this location was much nicer than at Cherry Grove. I had the big steamer pot and split it with another person. It was good, but not great. The oysters weren't well cleaned and a high ratio of my clams tasted off. The crab was delicious and so were the shrimp. The corn was gross, but the bread and slaw were good. Overall, it was ok. I will probably try again but maybe try something on their fried menu.

PROS: Great seafood selection at a reasonable price. Good drink specials. Has plenty of broiled, grilled and fried options. CONS: Contrary to previous reviewer, it was stifling hot and the ceiling fans did very little. Then again it was packed that night.

Pretty pricey for seafood combo platter. Scallops - salty and greasy, fantail shrimp - salty, fried oysters - big piece of shell. When we pointed it out to the waitress she said it was probably a piece of shell. Duh? Fries were good, but I don't want to pat $20 for fries. Seated in corner by POS and supplies right in the way of server traffic. Will not go back for their fried food or atmosphere.

Went on a Sat. Night with our young family. Sat upstairs...very dimly lit, felt a little dirty. Tried the fried corn on the cob, so salty couldnt get past the firsy bite! No offer to take it, off the bill...service was lacking, however the waitress was sweet. Shrimp was decent but Left nothing to be desired

The crabcakes were really good here. Nice beach atmosphere, and the service wasn't bad though server seemed a little frazzled.

Awesome happy hour food-wise, forgetful service. During happy hour, you can order shrimp, clams and oysters in any number - but when you get the check, it lists each item separately so your check is a mile long. That system needs changed....

Yeah, everything else said on the review page for this establishment is probably true at some point. Maybe we went on an off night. The service was just, well, missing. The peanuts were great, but they forgot our appetizer, and the smiley fries my kids got with their meals elicited questions ("What the heck are these?" "Yeah, what the heck ARE these?") Smallish portions. My stuffed crab was fine. My boiled shrimp tasted good, but were very hard to peel. The twice baked potato tasted like it was made from a mix. The hush puppies weren't up to the usual local standards. Yet the prices were... high. My wife had fried shrimp, Calabash style. Great. Love the atmosphere, except that the stereo sounded like a record player with an unbalanced tone arm that kept skipping. Probably a bad Internet radio station with an intermittent signal, these days, but still, it was annoying. No amount of atmosphere or back rub apologies by the host make up for bad service, though. C'mon, people! We know you know we won't be back, because we're tourists, but you're just setting yourselves up for bad kharma! Train the hired help. Detail and attention matter.

Seated quickly, waitress nice and attentive. Good food. Will def return and save room for the desserts because they looked fabulous!

Did you ever have food so good and so plentiful you could not finish it, but didn't want to leave it behind? That was my experience here. We came straight from the Pier with wind blown hair and flip-flops. The service was good not great but the food was wonderful. We will be back. We had the calamari appetizer, steamed shrimp, and fried fish.

Doesn't even deserve one star. We went to Duffy's looking forward to some local seafood and ambience. Instead we had very poor service. We ordered drinks and appetizers and about 15 minutes after we were seated another family sat down at the next table. They got their appetizers before we did. We waited and waited. Finally we said we had enough and left. My husband went to the GM to settle the drinks (one beer, one lousy pina colada, an even lousier ice tea and lemonade so sweet I couldn't drink it). The GM was insisting we pay for the appetizers that we were still waiting for. Unbelievable! DO NOT GO TO DUFFY'S. Went to Bonefish Grill right after and it was FABULOUS!

Loud place, inattentive servers, cold greasy food, long wait. I REALLY wanted to like this place with it's shanty look, and cool beach-y vibe, but was very disappponted.

Horrible. It's dirty, service is awful. And food is inedible I got the chicken tender sandwich grilled. Worst sandwich I've ever had could only bear to swallow one bite. Server and food runner were dimwits I will never eat here again

Went to duffy street for the first time last week. I had the seafood sampler platter and the Wife had scallops. Both meals were outstanding! The staff was great and the manager was very friendly. We will return again soon.

If you're in the mood for a good time old fashion raw bar shit sloppin' fuckfest - you've come to the right place. Duffy's encourages the throwing of peanut shells on the floor, so when I went, I made sure to make a mess. Hey! They're asking for it. It's a down-home sea shanty, and it's pretty tasty. Cajun Shrimp and whatnot are spiced to perfection - and because it's a dumpy shithole, the prices are great. You can gorge yourself beyond recognition on a longshoreman's budget. Have a beer, throw some shit around, grab the waitress' ass & have a blast at Duffy's.

Oysters on the half shell were excellent - great price! Loved the fried pickles, the fish corn chowder was ok - very fresh corn, but not much flavor. Nice atmosphere, peanuts at the table, good location.

It's m-eh okay. Service is good. Food is okay but not superb. Too pricey. Nothing exceptional, I wouldn't go back for anything. I'd just go to a less pricey, hamburger/seafood joint (of which there are tons in North Myrtle Beach), because they are pretty much all the same, so why pay more. Nothing exceptional and definitely no high chef in the back. If you want to, if you don't want to eat here, it's all m'eh.

This place is always packed, but I have never had to wait for more than 15 minutes for a seat. They offer all the normal beachy fare you might expect, including my favorite-raw oysters. They have a raw bar happy hour, I believe it is 4-6 (we were too late for it). The service was super fast and friendly. If you tend to get chilly bring a sweater, they have ceiling fans rolling at top speed and all the windows open, which makes for a great atmosphere, but it can be cool in the late evening.

Very good! excellent food! 85% of the cherry grove location is outside deck under roof eating. Family of four will spend 50-60$

Food was alright...peanuts on the floor (seriously!)...so if you're looking for fine dinning...this one isn't for you. Now if you want a cold bottle of beer (bottle only not draft) and some fried seafood in a casual environment...this is your place. I did not like the fries at all. Food was fair, ambiance was less than desirable (when we arrived the waitress was on the floor cleaning up the trash on the floor -yes trash)...friendly staff-overly chatty at times, and slow with the check. There are better places to eat in N Myrtle Beach.

Patio setting, excellent hospitality, good food. First trip to Myrtle Beach and wanted seafood from a local spot. Definitely recommend Duffy's over a chain. Limited air conditioned seating. Great experience and kid friendly! Enjoy!

Duffy's sits smack-dab in the middle of the main drag into Cherry Grove, so you can't miss the crowds hanging out on the porch, or waiting to get a table. It's a fun, laid-back place to grab a casual meal (seafood po'boys, seafood buckets, burgers), toss some peanut shells on the floor, listen to some blues, and enjoy a beer or a summery cocktail. Happy hour is also a pretty good deal - $7.95 crab legs and cheap shrimp and oysters from 4-6 every day.

Good food. The grits and shrimp was great. I'm surprise another business hasn't stole the cook. Crab dip was also very good

Awful! We were immediately seated, so that was good! Yet at the table the dirty dishes were still on table, and they told us he would be by to clean off! Which he did! Our server came to take drink orders pretty prompt, but that was the last thing that was! After we placed our food order it took exactly one hour for it to arrive at table! And they were not that busy! I had to ask for my salad at the 45 minute mark, and server asked, "what did you order?" Upon arrival of food - I ordered Pirates Plate, and wife ordered MahiMahi- every thing but shrimp was COLD! I'm not talking it just wasn't steaming hot, it was if it had been sitting for the entire hour, waiting for the shrimp! Wife's fish was way overcooked, tough and COLD! I don't write reviews, I just don't return! But thus is the type of restaurant that relies on reputation, they need to get act together! Christa sever was fine, but place is way understaffed for the size of parties they are catering too!

Cool place but food was sub par. The crab and fish po boy sandwich tasted the same and were very bland. I was excited to go hearing about the reviews but I am not going back.

I've been visiting Cherry Grove for years...there are 2 other Duffy locations, but I have only been to the one at Duffy & Sea Mtn Hwy. The best part of Duffy's is the happy hour. The prices are great, the low country crab dip is awesome, steamed shrimp, and steamed clams are yum, also, at 7.95 the crab legs cooked to perfection. For 'a seafood shack' atmosphere, cold beer, few seafood favs, its the place to go. For a 'family-friendly environment' I would not recommend. We almost always go for happy hour for the great prices/cold beverages & a few laughs!
